An Accra court on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 ruled that former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan was the biological father of Gifty Gyan’s three children.
The case, which has been in court for three years, has sparked controversy due to the fame of the former Sunderland and Al Ain player, Africa’s top scorer at a FIFA World Cup.
In delivering the verdict, the court ordered Asamoah Gyan toAsamiah Asam pay his ex-wife Gifty Gyan a sum of 25,000 Ghana Cedis (GHc25,000) every month for the welfare and maintenance of their three children.
This amount does not include tuition fees for the three children, medical and dental costs, as well as air tickets for travel and other costs that may arise from raising the children.

Asamoah Gyan’s house in the UK was also handed over to Gifty along with another four-bedroom house in Ghana.
One of Asamoah Gyan’s businesses, a gas station in Prampram, was handed over to Gifty, along with a Black Stars BMW car that led to her former partner.
When the details of the divorce agreement were made public, it sparked a reaction from Asamoah Gyan.
